At My Guide México we made this list of things you need to know before visiting Mexico City:
1. Sanitary measures
Use a face mask all the time while in public places. Unless you are eating in a restaurant, there is no reason to stop using it. Also remember to wash your hands constantly as well as disinfect yourself with antibacterial gel. It is still important to maintain a distance of 1.5 meters between people.
And obviously: if before traveling you feel any symptoms such as fever and headache, better stay home! We promise that we chilangos will be here.

2. The weather
Not to brag, but genuinely Mexico City has great weather. Mind you: May to September is the rainy season (which usually occurs in the afternoon), but even under those conditions you can expect highs of 82.4° Fahrenheit and lows of 55.4°, so the city basically stays in a pleasant range. Always check what the weather forecast is like when you travel, but come on: our weather is pretty stable.

3. Tourist areas
In this huge city it is easy for even a chilango to get lost if we do not know the area, but fortunately the interesting places for tourists are quite concentrated.
The city center is highly touristy; there is the Zócalo, which is one of the largest squares in the world, the National Palace, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Greater Temple, the Palace of Fine Arts and several other attractions and museums.
Chapultepec is an area where you will find the Castle of Chapultepec, Museum of Anthropology and History, Museum of Modern Art, Rufino Tamayo Museum and the forests of Chapultepec; a very beautiful area that you must know.
There is also Coyoacán, where you will find the Frida Kahlo Museum, where this artist was born and died. The center of Coyoacán offers many restaurants and bars, there are always people walking through its gardens.
If you are looking for a more exclusive area, go to Polanco, where you will find many hotels, restaurants and bars where the bills will not be low but all of excellent quality.
If you are looking for the trendiest scene, take a tour of the Roma and Condesa neighborhoods, where there will also be endless restaurants, bars and galleries only a little bit cheaper than Polanco's proposal but with a more chic vibe.

4. Hours and capacity of public places
As we return to normality, the rules change: in restaurants the service is until midnight with 6 diners at tables indoors and 8 outdoors. Amusement parks, museums, religious centers among others, can only receive 40% of their capacity. So you don't have to worry: you will be able to know everything this city has to offer!

5. Mexico is safer than you think
Yes: we know that there is negative news about the country and although things are not ideal, in general terms, Mexico City is quite safe. This city receives millions of tourists annually and the government puts a lot of resources so that they feel safe since tourism is a very important activity for the country. And honestly: Mexicans are some of the friendliest and most hospitable people you will ever meet!
