For the second year in a row (thanks, pandemic!) Mexico City will virtually celebrate this march, but don't let that discourage you! Last year online events were held for more than 10 hours, so the festivities don't stop.

For 43 years CDMX has proudly dressed in rainbow not only to celebrate sexual diversity, it also demands representation, respect and equality as well as the fight for the rights and visibility of the community, also highlighting the importance of putting a stop to the violence and hate crimes as well as the recognition of trans childhoods.

"We have the security and conviction that the most important thing at this moment is to continue taking care of the health of our community and society in general," said the Comité IncluyeT in a press release. They also reported that the virtual edition of last year's parade had more than 5 million viewers.

This year a successful celebration is expected for 3 days: June 25, 26 and 27. Among the queens of the march are Marjorie de Souza, Paty Manterola, Susana Zabaleta and Lucía Méndez. As godmothers there will be Alejandra Ávalos, Carmen Campuzano, Shanik Berman and Felicia Mercado; these highlighted the importance of the visibility of the LGBTIQ + community in their lives and careers, as well as the very important impact on society.

“Through the years we have always defended, through these types of events, and we have carried out awareness campaigns especially to help the population understand that the community needs respect, that the community needs freedom of expression and that we still have a lot to work on”, declared Ávalos.
