Faro Punta Cancun

Pristine location secluded from hotels.

There are various iconic spots in Cancun, Quintana Roo, one of which is a Lighthouse with white and red horizontal stripes and a spiral stairway; it appears to be a pristine location since it is a bit rocky, with little flora, and is secluded from the huge hotels. You may swim across the access area to the lighthouse, however, on the other side, it is already open water and quite rocky.

Access is through Playa Caracol at Km 9, where there should be a truck stop as well as various stores and restaurants. Before you begin your journey to the lighthouse, we recommend that you do not bring food, because owing to the absence of federal authorities and the careless individuals who leave their rubbish, the hotels on your route to the lighthouse may stop you to prohibit you from carrying food. and/or future waste to the Lighthouse to maintain it as clean as possible

Let's begin the journey by going to the right. You'll have to travel beneath the piers and occasionally up till you come across the Hyatt Ziva Hotel. Do not try to get around it as it might be risky or wet all your goods; instead, you'll have to walk through the hotel. Security will ask you where you are going and will ask you to take a photo, do not be afraid, it is only to keep a check and for your safety. At this point, they will ask you not to pass with food or water containers, then, security will guide you.

We recommend going in the afternoon because that is when the birds start looking for food and you will be able to see the spectacular sunsets. To continue the journey, you are only a few meters away from the Lighthouse.
