Description

We begin our experience by meeting at the iconic meeting point: the Cibeles Fountain in Colonia Roma Norte, a central and accessible location. Here you will meet our expert tour guide and the group with whom we will share this adventure. Once ready, we board our private transportation to head to one of Mexico's most impressive archaeological sites: Teotihuacan, the City of the Gods. During the approximately 1-hour drive, our tour guide will share fascinating facts about pre-Hispanic history and the importance of this civilization in ancient Mexico. Arrival to Teotihuacan: Upon arrival, we are immersed in the grandeur of this millenary city. Our tour begins with a general introduction to the planning of Teotihuacan, highlighting its urban design, astronomical alignment and cultural symbolism. 1. Pyramid of the Sun: The first stop will be at the imposing Pyramid of the Sun, the site's largest structure. If you feel energetic, you can climb its 248 steps to enjoy an unparalleled view of the entire valley. From the top, our tour guide will explain the spiritual significance of this place and how it is related to the rituals of the Teotihuacan people. 2. Causeway of the Dead: We continue walking along the emblematic Calzada de los Muertos, the main avenue of the city, where you will learn about the temples, platforms and residences that were part of this vibrant cultural and political center. Our tour guide will share stories about the ceremonial practices and daily life of its ancient inhabitants. 3. Pyramid of the Moon: Our next stop is the Pyramid of the Moon, from where you will admire a unique perspective of the Causeway of the Dead. This temple, dedicated to the Great Goddess of Teotihuacan, reveals the importance of the cosmovision of this culture. 4. Palace of Quetzalpapalotl: If time permits, we will visit this fascinating architectural complex, known for its intricate reliefs of mythological birds and its function as a ceremonial residence for the elite. 5. Craft workshops and pulque (optional): Before returning, we will make a brief stop at a local workshop where you will learn about working with obsidian, the maguey plant and its uses in pre-Hispanic times. You will also taste pulque, a traditional Mexican drink that is part of the cultural legacy of the region. Return to Mexico City: Finally, we return to the Cibeles Fountain, where our tour will conclude. You will arrive with your mind full of history and your heart full of unforgettable experiences.
