Description

Embark on a 5-day adventure through the Lacandona Jungle, from Palenque to San Cristóbal. Visit the archaeological site of Palenque, the Misol-Ha waterfall, the Lacandon community of Lacanjá Chansayab, the archaeological site of Bonampak, and the lost city of Yaxchilán. Go rafting, kayaking • day one We leave at 8:30 a.m. towards the impressive archaeological site of Palenque, one of the most prominent cities of the Mayan civilization. Next, we head to the majestic Misol-Ha waterfall, where we will admire its spectacular fall of more than 35 meters high. In the afternoon, we will travel to the Lacandon community of Lacanjá Chansayab to stay at the Río Lacanjá Camp (lunch and dinner). • day two In the morning, we explore the archaeological site of Bonampak, known for its impressive murals depicting some of the most preserved and significant Mayan paintings. We then return to the camp to begin an exciting raft tour on the Lacanjá River. The first part of the rafting includes a series of waterfalls, from small falls of less than one meter to exciting class III jumps up to 2.50 meters high. Next, we will take a 15-minute walk to the archaeological zone of Lacanjá. Afterwards, we will enjoy a refreshing swim in the Moctuniha waterfalls and have lunch in a natural environment. Finally, we will return to the camp through the lush high evergreen jungle, where we will spend the night at the Río Lacanjá Camp (breakfast, lunch, dinner). * Day three In the morning, we leave for the community of Frontera Corozal, where we will board a motor boat to navigate the Usumacinta River, the largest in Mexico. We will go to the enigmatic lost city of Yaxchilán, one of the most impressive archaeological zones in Chiapas, with its temples emerging majestically in the middle of the jungle. Afterwards, we will travel for 3 hours to board kayaks and continue our adventure to the Río Ixcan Camp. There, you will enjoy a night surrounded by the captivating chorus of sarahuato monkeys. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner). • Day four Early in the morning, we will continue our kayak adventure for 4 hours along the Lacantum River, where you will be able to observe the rich flora and fauna of the Chiapas jungle. With some luck, you will spot toucans and macaws in flight over the river. At one point on the tour, we will take a walk through the jungle to admire the majestic Ceibas. At the end of the kayak tour, we will move to the Las Nubes tourist center to enjoy a walk and contemplate its impressive waterfalls. We will spend the night at the Las Nubes tourist center. (Breakfast, lunch, dinner). • Day five After breakfast, we will head to the enchanting Montebello Lakes, known for their crystal clear waters and picturesque landscapes. Later, we will visit the majestic El Chiflón waterfall, famous for its imposing drop of more than 70 meters, which offers a spectacular view. We will arrive in San Cristóbal de las Casas around 7 p.m., marking the end of our service. (Breakfast included)
