Description
We start the tour with an introduction of the origin of Mexico City in the Zocalo, the main square of the city to learn about the time when the Jews began to arrive in Mexico.
A few steps away from the city we will visit the Santo Domingo square where we will enter the Palace of Medicine to talk about the Inquisition in Mexico.
We will walk through the streets of the Jewish Quarter where Jewish immigrants settled and founded the first Synagogue in Mexico. Near the Synagogue we will see the Teatro del Pueblo.
We will enter the Justo Sierra Historic Synagogue created in 1941 called Nidje Israel while in Mexico the community was flourishing and consolidating.
We will walk through the streets where the daily life of the Jews took place and at the end of the tour we will talk about important Jewish characters that have stood out in the history of Mexico. We will return to the Zocalo of the city.
