Did you know that the story of this character dates back to the chronicles of Bernal Díaz del Castillo? This Spaniard was part of the conquest of the Mexican empire, and among his accounts is the tale of La Llorona. The performance revolves around the soul of an indigenous woman who weeps her sorrows along the canals of Xochimilco. This story, passed down through generations, is now considered a Cultural Heritage. On the stage, also set on a trajinera, ancient Mexican instruments made of bone and clay, such as ocarinas and whistling jars, along with drums and pumpkin rattles, are showcased. These are blended with instruments brought during the Conquest, such as the marimba, harp, and guitar. Music, light, and color converge in a unique spectacle in Xochimilco.Includes
