Description

This tour will take you to discover two of Mexico’s most iconic destinations, Puebla and Cholula, where history, art, and colonial architecture blend in a unique way. Join us on this journey starting from Mexico City, taking you to explore impressive sites filled with cultural wealth. We begin our day traveling to the Magical Town of Cholula, a place famous for its history, colonial architecture, and especially its pyramid, which is considered the largest in the world by volume. At first glance, the pyramid looks like just a hill, but upon discovering its interior, we are surprised by a vast structure that holds thousands of years of history. During our visit to the Cholula Archaeological Zone, we’ll explore the tunnels that run through the pyramid and learn about its significance to pre-Hispanic civilizations. We will also visit the Church of Our Lady of the Remedies, built at the top of the pyramid, an impressive example of the fusion of indigenous history and Spanish colonization. Next, we will head to Cholula’s 365 churches, with a special visit to two of the most famous: Santa María Tonanzintla and San Francisco Acatepec. Both churches are beautiful examples of Baroque Indigenist architecture, a unique style that blends indigenous elements with the techniques of Spanish Baroque architecture and art. Upon entering these churches, you will be amazed by the richness of their details, from the ceilings to the walls, which are filled with colorful representations telling stories of faith and indigenous culture. Our next stop will be the City of Puebla, known as Puebla de los Ángeles. Puebla is a historic city that was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site for its stunning colonial architecture. One of the highlights of our visit will be the majestic Puebla Cathedral, located in the city’s main square. This cathedral is one of the most important in the country due to its size and beauty. We will continue with a visit to the Rosary Chapel, a Baroque masterpiece considered one of the wonders of world art. Here, you’ll be able to admire its incredible decoration and the gold details that cover the walls and main altar. As we stroll through Puebla, you will also have the opportunity to walk along its colonial streets, surrounded by beautiful colored facades and traditional markets. Puebla is famous for its rich gastronomy, so don’t be surprised if along the way, we tempt you with some mole poblano or tacos árabes, typical dishes that will make your experience even more complete. This tour offers a full immersion into the history and culture of two of the most fascinating places in Mexico. At the end of the day, you will return to Mexico City with unforgettable memories of a trip filled with history, art, and tradition.
