Description

Get ready to visit one of the jewels of Mayan architecture in the region, the pre-Hispanic city of Chichén Itzá. Our private tour starts with pick up from the comfort of your hotel at the suggested time, (it can always be changed and adapted to your convenience, we recommend an early pick up time to avoid crowds). 2 hrs drive from Playa del Carmen / Tulum, 2.5 hrs from Cancun, During the trip, we can begin to enter with information about the Mexican culture, all that this beautiful country has to offer and so you can have a vision, not only of the area, but of Mexico in general; little by little we will go into information about the area until we have a first encounter with the beautiful city of Chichen Itza that we will be discovering. Once we arrive at Chichen Itza, we will begin our tour with a historical context of the local cultures, to better understand the development of the Mayas, the challenges, achievements, discoveries, that led them to be the great civilization that left us a great legacy. In this private tour, our tour is unconventional, as we will go to areas less frequented by the crowds, we will detail the transition of the city from its origin, influence of other cultures, art, architecture, materials used for its construction, symbology, usability of the different buildings, as well as more fascinating aspects of this site in a chronology that will make us understand this site in a very enjoyable and dynamic way. There will always be room for photos! We know that we all like to take a beautiful photographic souvenir of the places we visit, we will show you some of the places with the best angles for incredible photos. Once our tour of Chichen Itza is over, it's time to cool off in a Cenote, which are unique geological formations that are scattered throughout the Yucatan Peninsula, also known as the Great Mayan Aquifer, sacred places that today, we can also enjoy for a refreshing dip (swimming is optional). Time to eat! Mexican cuisine, intangible heritage of humanity by UNESCO, is full of ingredients, flavors, spices, colors, methods of preparation, which give us a unique culinary identity. Yucatecan cuisine combines all this in unique dishes that we will discover from the origin of the ingredients to the elaborate dishes that we will taste in a local restaurant in the city of Valladolid. After lunch, we can take a short tour through some of the streets of Valladolid, a picturesque colonial city from the 16th century, either on foot or by car, to begin our return journey. This tour is done with expert tour guides, who will offer you an experience that is different from any other tour, knowing the needs that, also, being travelers, we know what a unique experience requires.
